This summer I had the opertunity to restore this wonderful Schwinn. A local artist found this gem as a barn find. It was really under the weather. We completely stripped it down, blasted the frame, polished every part, rebuilt the wheels, painted the frame, and put on new decals. It took time but was worth every minute.

Now that spring is fast upon us, its time to dust off the old stallion and get some miles in the saddle. The weather in Virginia is getting warmer and more pleasant to ride. With about 7 weeks until the Tour de Cure 2012, this is the best time to start training for the 100 miler or 65 miler, and just getting some fresh air.

Young Thomas wins again on a Darnell Custom Carbon. He placed 2nd in both races on March 12th and 13th. In the time trial he was only about 2-one hundredths of a second behind first place. Congratulations Thomas and keep riding hard!!
We are supporting research for diabetes by donating a Darnell Custom Carbon bike to the Tour de Cure. Along with the bicycle comes a free fit session so you can be 100% dialed in on your new Darnell bicycle--for every $250 you raise, your name goes in the hat for the bike. For drawing details and any other questions about the 2011 Tour de Cure visit their main web page.
